Lounge Bohemia Cocktail Bar Review

Lounge Bohemia Cocktail Bar Review

Did you all enjoy London Cocktail week this year? Unfortunately I was out of the country for work to enjoy all the activities so when I came back, I decided I better make up for it by going somewhere totally awesome like Lounge Bohemia

There are a couple of things to note prior to going there. 1. the dress code. We were respectfully requested to not wear suits. Woah love this vibe already 2. the address. The entrance is just an average looking front door and it's 1e you want (judging by the sign by the buzzer for 1 that says "Not Lounge Bohemia!!!!!", looks like the tenants has had more than their fair share of confused revellers).

We had the quiet cove in the corner, perfect for people watching and hatching world domination plans

Struggled with the low lighting to get decent photos of bar. Found this one online.

Lounge Bohemia is an underground speakeasy with an Eastern European / 60s vibe. If I had some corduroy trousers and a turtleneck the same colour as an Essex tan, I'd be well sorted. You're half expecting to see Peggy from Mad Men (when she got her proper job and got all sassy not when she was a secretary and a bore) with her cohorts discussing politics, religion, love, whatever. Obviously me and my friends were having equally high brow conversations. Or not. We actually spent quite a lot of time talking about pranks. Because that's totally the conversations you should be having when you're in your 30s.

The menu. Obvs.

This is a half bubbly. Honey vodka, ginger liqueur, camomile and honey tea, camomile air and mango and rose "roe". served in a caviar tin. Of course they can't serve real caviar it would go against this vibe of revolution, anti-capitalism, anti-the-man!

Now this is what I love about Lounge Bohemia. This is a bohemian breakfast. Again I have 2 things to say about this

1. This is the final presentation after a wonderful theatrical display of assembling it. I wasn't allowed to record it which suggests that not only will you see something worth recording but also that it preserves the surprise for others.

2. Order this when you go. You will not regret it.

Sometimes I see young children in raptures about things and I wish I still had that sense of wonder. Watching our very pretty and lovely waitress (girl crush alert) had us all mesmerised. I cannot even begin to describe how super fun it was. It was also great seeing other customers being presented with all sorts of amazing looking creations.

Lavender and condensed milk with vodka (I think, sorry forgot to take note!). Not a combination I'd normally have together but it works

Love this sort of finger food

If you've ever been to purl and loved the underground, quirky decor and theatrical drinks then you'll love Lounge Bohemia. However the atmosphere is less London gentlemen and more 60s sass. So glad we finally went here having been on our list forever. Great for dates if you want to impress someone by going somewhere different but also intimate but also perfect with mates.
